The Pig expands to the South West
Its shabby chic interior and gastropub cuisine have proven such a hit that two more additions to The Pig hotel empire are in the pipeline. Founder Robin Hutson has once again managed to source beautiful and unique properties: Grade II-listed Madehurst Lodge near Arundel, and Harlyn House with its stunning views of the Cornwall coast. As per The Pig’s philosophy, fresh ingredients will only be foraged from the surrounding gardens or sourced within a 25-mile radius.

Dishoom to add its Bombay charm to Birmingham
The Bombay café chain has been busy branching out and next up is Birmingham. The popular joint will be settling in the city’s heart at One Chamberlain Square to inject some of its old-school Iranian flair, which has seen the brand grow into one of London’s most beloved dining spots. Diners can dig into an extensive offering of Bombay comfort food, including the signature bacon naan roll, as well as a range of brand-new dishes specially created for this Birmingham branch.

D&D to open its first venture in Bristol
Following recent openings in Leeds and Manchester, it’s now Bristol’s turn to welcome a brand-new venture by D&D, the group behind joints such as 20 Stories and Quaglino’s. Taking up a spot in the city’s shopping district, Cabot Circus, an 18th-century friary building skirting Quakers Friars piazza will be transformed into a swanky dining spot complete with bar, extensive private dining and large outdoor terrace sure to make it a prime destination on sunny days. Details on the menu are yet to be confirmed.

The Ivy adds to its collection with a new outpost in Windsor
From its loyal celebrity following to its glam art-deco interior and impeccable classic British cuisine, London’s The Ivy has been a beloved dining institution for over a century and today its empire includes more than 30 spin-offs dotting the UK. New to the collection is its Windsor outpost, which is set to open on the town’s High Street later this year. Expect all the trappings synonymous with the group, including its timeless allure and all-day menu offering The Ivy classics and some locally-inspired additions.

MOSU to introduce authentic Japanese flavours to Manchester
Its first Michelin star in more than 40 years confirmed it: Manchester’s dining scene is a force to be reckoned with. Recent years have seen a range of high-end eateries open in the city and Mancunians now have MOSU to look forward to. Taking its inspiration from Japan’s izakaya alley bars, a modernised concept will be taking up residence below Barton Arcade to serve robata grill delicacies and sushi created with daily imports from Tokyo’s fish market. It will also stock an exquisite sake collection, which you can sample until 4am.
