With the new year underway, it’s the perfect time to start looking ahead to 2025’s most anticipated restaurant openings. From global franchises making their London debut to beloved hotspots expanding to Northern cities, we’re excited to grab a seat and dive into the new menus.
La Môme, London
A glamorous French Riviera revival is coming to The Berkeley, with a scheduled opening in January 2025. Following in the footsteps of their successful ventures in Cannes and Monte Carlo, La Môme London promises to be a lavish experience. The restaurant will take over the space long occupied by Marcus Wareing for over two decades. French chefs and brothers Ugo and Antoine Lecorché will present their signature Mediterranean dishes, prepared and served with flair right before diners to enhance the dramatic experience. Enjoy cocktails at the bar or unwind on The Berkeley terrace for a taste of French Riviera elegance in the heart of Knightsbridge.
Rockfish, Lyme Regis
After 16 successful years, Mark Hix’s iconic The Oyster & Fish House will close its doors, making way for Mitch Tonks’ new venture, Rockfish, at the same prime location with stunning views over Lyme Regis harbour. Though the concept is shifting, there’s no rivalry between these long-time friends. Rockfish will continue the tradition of serving freshly caught, seasonal fish, with a strong commitment to supporting local fishermen. Keep an eye out for special guest chef evenings, where Hix himself will return to cohost.
Simpson’s in the Strand, London
Simpson’s in the Strand, a Covent Garden institution since 1828, originally started as a chess house serving classic British fare and became a beloved spot for figures like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dickens, Churchill, and Hepburn. After struggling in recent years and several failed attempts at reinvention, the iconic restaurant temporarily closed, leaving many wondering if it would ever return. Enter restaurateur Jeremy King, who’s set to breathe new life into the legendary venue. He’ll reopen Simpson’s as a grand, theatrical brasserie in early 2025, complete with private dining rooms, multiple bars open late, and his own spin on the restaurant’s storied traditions.
Chotto Matte, Manchester
The trendy Nikkei-style restaurant, beloved in Soho, is finally heading north. Chotto Matte is set to make a grand debut in Manchester, occupying the rooftop of the St Michael’s development in a sprawling 1,858 sq m space, making it the city’s largest restaurant. Founded by Kurt Zdesar, the man who introduced Nobu to Europe, this new venture promises vibrant, jungle-inspired interiors, stunning views of the historic city, and the signature robata grill experience that Chotto Matte is known for.
Le Caprice, London
While Jeremy King transformed the original site into Arlington, the iconic Le Caprice is set to make a grand return, now bigger and better than ever. The legendary restaurant will take a split-level space at the luxury Chancery Rosewood Hotel. Once the go-to spot for stars like Kate Moss, Elton John, and Princess Diana, Le Caprice has a reputation that’s become the stuff of legend. New owner Richard Caring is committed to preserving beloved menu classics, while introducing a touch of modern elegance to the timeless venue.
Carbone, London
The cult-favourite Carbone is bringing its first European outpost to join Le Caprice at The Chancery Rosewood. This upscale Italian-American hotspot is set to be just as exclusive as its counterparts, with the flagship New York location known for turning away even celebrities without reservations. Reservations open online a month in advance and sell out in seconds—but don’t worry, we can help you secure a spot. It’s absolutely worth it, especially for the family-style dishes, including the famous rigatoni alla vodka.
Treehouse, Manchester
Another exciting addition to Manchester’s dining scene, Treehouse Hotel brings a fun and quirky twist with two new restaurants. On the ground floor, chef Mary-Ellen McTague’s zero-waste restaurant, Pip, will serve breakfast, grab-and-go bites, and all-day dining. Up on the 14th floor, chef Sam Grainger will offer vibrant Southeast Asian cuisine, with DJs and live music creating a lively atmosphere. Alongside these, The Nest—a bar and lounge with stunning city views—and the more intimate Hideout provide the perfect spaces for both relaxation and creativity.
Gordon Ramsay, Bishopsgate
With a collection of Michelin stars and a portfolio of successful restaurants, Gordon Ramsay is taking dining to new heights in London. His latest project at 22 Bishopsgate will offer an elevated culinary experience across multiple levels. On the 61st floor, enjoy Europe’s highest rooftop bar at Lucky Cat Terrace, while the Asian-inspired Lucky Cat restaurant on level 60 boasts breath-taking 360-degree city views. For a more intimate experience, reserve the 12-seat chef’s table, also on level 60. Below, Bread Street Kitchen & Bar will feature more of Ramsay’s iconic dishes.

Freyja, Northumberland
In just 18 months, Swedish chef Alex Nietosvuori and his Northumberland-born wife Ally Thompson earned a Michelin star for their restaurant Hjem, known for its unpretentious Scandinavian cuisine. Now, the duo is embarking on a new adventure with Freyja, a restaurant set in the restored walled garden of Close House mansion. This new venture promises a true garden-to-fork experience, complemented by stunning views of the Tyne Valley. Expect the warmth and familiarity of a local village eatery, with an international twist.
Nammos, London
After much anticipation, Nammos is finally bringing its renowned beach club experience to the UK. Originally slated for Knightsbridge, the celebrated restaurant group will now take over the space previously occupied by Il Borro in Mayfair. With a menu focused on fresh seafood and sushi, mirroring the original Mykonos location and its global outposts in sun-soaked destinations like Dubai, Limassol, and Cannes, Nammos promises to bring a taste of endless summer to London.
